for Certified Nursing Assistants
Students taking the Kentucky nurse aide training will be taught the Role of the Certified Nurse Aide and Long-Term Care, Personal Care Skill, Maintaining a Clean, Safe and Healthy Environment, Basic Nursing Skill, Nutrition, Hydration, Body Anatomy & Physiology, and Knowledge Residents' Health and Emergency Procedures.
Individuals considering becoming a CNA must complete an approved Training and Competency Evaluation Program. The programs in Kentucky is committed to the educational standards of excellence that will ensure marketable skills for the graduate.
Working as a certified Nursing Assistant can be physically demanding. You will be required to lift patients, assist residents to prevent falling, and carry heavy medical equipment. Students who are enrolled in the kentucky schools must meet the physical requirements set forth in the Program.
The Kentucky and competency evaluation program shall:
- Consist of a minimum of seventy-five (75) clock hours of nurse aide instructional training;
- Include at least sixteen (16) hours of supervised practical training
Students will be taught to provide technical skill expertise. This includes competency-based practical learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, work attitudes, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills specific to patient care.
