Connecticut Patient Care Technician Training
Students taking a Connecticut Patient Care Technician training will gain the knowledge, clinical skills and work habits required to pursue a position in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, long term care facilities, medical offices and labs. PCT's are part of the healthcare team and are qualified to work under the supervision of licensed professional personnel and alongside other healthcare providers.
Graduates of a Connecticut patient care technician competency-based program is eligible to take state and/or national certification examinations in Phlebotomy, Certified Nurse’s Assistant, EKG/ECG Technician, and Patient Care Technician.

Patient Care Technician courses are offered three times a year, beginning in January, May, and September.
16-week course (12 weeks of classes, 4 weeks of clinical - 160 hours)
Classes are held Monday and Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday;
morning section (9:00 AM - Noon) or
evening section (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

Four-week practical rotation at Griffin Hospital (M-F, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Tuition includes books, malpractice insurance, CPR certification, and national certification exam fee. Eligible to register for CT CNA exam. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for both a national Patient Care Technician Exam and a National Phlebotomy Exam.
