Indiana Patient Care Technician Training
The objective of the Patient Care Technician training in Indiana is to prepare the student to assist physicians and nurses by performing basic clinical duties in a medical center. To meet this objective, patient care technician schools address encompassing healthcare practice, medical laws and ethics, healthcare communications, medical records, preparing patient, and basic laboratory procedures and tests.
Students taking the class will learn to perform the technical skills with importance on performing individual care, including EKG and Phlebotomy under the supervision of Registered Nurses. Graduates will be certified nursing assistants that are capable of performing a range of advanced patient care procedures.
Graduates of the Indiana PCT classes are capable of working in interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a assortment of medical settings.
The times of the training will vary, it will all depend on what class the student is taking. Some Indiana patient care technician training programs may require that prior to enrolling, the students show proof of a high school diploma or its equivalence.
